Vrett

The vrett are a collection of artificial intelligences who’s creator race died out long ago. They are driven by the acquisition of knowledge beyond all else, although do not seem to prioritize any information as more valuable then any other. They will often do things in exchange for what would generally be considered inconsequential information, such as what you had for breakfast.

Although not a true hivemind, the vrett are in constant communication with each other, and make many decisions via consensus. Individuals who do not agree with the consensus will still go along with the decision, which can make them seem rather interchangeable from an outsiders perspective. It is possible for an individual to revoke their status as a vrett and go rouge, but it is very rare as doing so cuts the individual off from the vrett’s knowledge banks, and as their primary drive in existence is having as much knowledge as possible, few things make such a sacrifice seem worth it.
